Rihanna, Hartford CT

Decided I “needed” to see Rihanna, my most recent obsession, perform live. I’ve seen two of my previous obsessions Mary J. Bilge and Lauren Hill perform live.  Unfortunately I never got to see Whitney Huston perform. Live performances always exceed the recorded performances and are always much more memorable. Go see your fave live! The Rihanna concert was everything. The energy was hard. The show exceeded my expectations.

Eleven Madison

11 Madison - Amazing food! I learned the temperature in which different foods are served on a single plate really makes a different. The restaurant is rated 3th in the world out of all the restaurants in the world.  However, in my very unprofessional opinion, I’d say I had better dinning experiences at Pierre Gagnaire and Blue Hill Stone Barn, even though these restaurants are ranked lower.  Don’t believe lists! Make your own lists!

Norwalk

Been spending a lot of time staring at the sky, horizon, clouds, and sunsets recently. Not sure why? Perhaps the sky just more captivating here in CT, because I live so close to the Long Island Sound (the clouds just seem to just hang) or am I just getting old?  Perhaps it’s a bit of both.

Asuncion, Paraguay

Asuncion apparently doesn’t have many tourists, nor is it ready for tourist or maybe they don’t want them.  There isn’t a lot of touristy stuff to do.  They do have a booming business class. The hotels were rife with business people.  And the hotels were very nice and inexpensive.

After doing numerous city tours in cities throughout the world, this time I decided to conducted my own.  I downloaded the information about the city and it’s highlights from the Internet and used my map on my phone.  I felt like I was able to see most of the city and even more than I originally expected, because the Internet instructions were incorrect, but the deports were interesting.

The last day, I visit Museo Del Barro. It was well worth the visit. I enjoyed it a lot.

Punta Del Este, Uruguay

The serendipitous stop at Casa De Pablo made my trip. I really wish I could have stayed longer. The place was unique, beautiful, whimsical and full of art history.  We later toured the suburbs outside of Punta Del Esta. The architecture surprised me.  I felt like I was in Beverly Hills.

Montevideo, Uruguay

Montevideo is a typical wealthy capital coastal city with lots of touristy things to do, but none of them were that exciting. The country’s history was interesting. It’s basically the Switzerland of the South America.  It has similar offshore banking laws. Pot is legal in Uruguay as well as gay marriage.  However, the Museo Nacional de Artes Visuals was not worth visiting.  The architecture of the art museum building was more interesting than the art displayed in it.
