Made it to Tokyo Safely!
The 13 hour flight was empty. I had there seats to myself, and could sleep across them. The group is very diverse in age - from 22 to 68. There's definitely a difference walking speeds.

NEXT TRIP: Discover Japan
Been contemplating visiting Japan since January of 2011, then the earthquake hit, and I decided to delay visiting. I found a 2 week window, and gonna do it. My lower back has been aching since my Aconcagua trip, hopefully it won't affect this trip. I still run 5 miles a day, no problem, but when I walk or stand for long periods of time, it aches. Gonna get it check out before I leave, hope he doesn't tell me it's old age. :(
Here's the itinerary.
"14 day Japan Rail Pass, Hida Folk Village, Kenroku-en garden and Kanazawa Castle, Kinkaku-ji Temple, Nijo Castle, Daisen-in Zen Temple, Excursion to Miyajima Island, Mt Fuji climb."
Especially psyched to roam around Tokyo, visit Hiroshima, hike down Mt. Fuji (hiking up is not an option, emotive sad face), eat lots of sushi and drink lots of sake. Eastern culture has always fascinated me. Japan's culture seems like the epitome of eastern culture, at least to me.
"...this trip provides the perfect blend of guided excursions and free time to explore this fascinating region at your own pace."
