He seems to be right on. He takes a very level-headed, thoughtful approach to this election. This is a welcome turn from the last election when Bush/Rove/Cheney sought to instill fear in people to get their vote. Remember the "Red, Orange, Yellow" alerts. Wouldn't it be nice to live in a country were the Administration doesn't try to instill fear into it's people on a daily basis?
Powell's reasons for endorsing Obama:
1) Concerned by McCain's response to the economic crisis.
2) McCain's selection of Palin as a running mate. "She is not ready to be President"
3) McCain's negative campaign; invoking Ayers to instill fear.
4) Difficulty with two more conservative Supreme Court appointments.
5) Doesn't condone the extreme conservative arm his party's divisive use of religion.
