"There is a hidden society at the end of the world. One thousand men and women live together under unbelievably close quarters in Antarctica, risking their lives and sanity in search of cutting-edge science."
Ugh, I should never have watched this film. It only made me want to travel again, possibly to Antarctica. But I promised myself I wouldn't internationally meander for at least another year or two. But the pictures of scuba diving under the ice were absolutely spectacular, set to such an ominous, ethereal sound track. Herzog is a great documentarian.
"Over the course of his journey, Herzog examines human nature and Mother nature, juxtaposing breathtaking locations with the profound, surreal, and sometimes absurd experiences of the marine biologists, physicists, plumbers, and truck drivers who choose to form a society as far away from society as one can get."
I'm predicting the rest of my days is ruined dreaming about traveling again. It's such an addiction.
