Day 9 - Bagan to Kalaw

Left Bagan early, to drive to the cooler air of Kalaw, a former British hill station, en route we visiting the 'Mountain of Deities', Popa. We climb a staircase of 777 steps up the volcanic rock to view shrines for Nats (celestial spirits of Myanma mythology) and small temples dedicated to the Buddha.

On the climb up, we passed many monkeys, as well as food stalls selling herbal remedies.

Later in the day we watch a local buddhist procession of money and firecrackers!
