Asmara exudes a unique blend of African, Italian and Arabic culture. Unlike like other East African capital cities, Asmara has a underlying wannabe European culture. It also has an art deco architecture vibe for which it recently obtained an UNESCO destination. Almost vacant streets are lined with cafes and restaurants. Most restaurants serve both local injera dishes and Italian cuisine. My only criticism is the government-owned and run WiFi here is EXTREMELY SLOW and EXPNESEIVE! Otherwise, it’s a very pleasant city.

Pushkin Monument - apparently Pushkin's father was Eritrean.
National Museum was worth a visit for a brief history of Eritrea.
Some much leftover from the Italian "Empire"
