Crushing cassava leaves for dinner! Love them!
I didn't feel comfortable running along the river. The paths were very uneven and the path was very close to the homes where people live. I borrowed a jump rope from another traveler to exercise. The locals wanted to join in, of course.
Without a doubt my favorite continent! This time we ventured into the inter-depths of the continent with – no 3G/Wi-Fi connection and limited exercise opportunities – just happy, smiling, friendly kids and curious villagers, albeit, with limited means. It has made me truly appreciate the opportunities provided me by being born in an economically wealthy country. I cannot imagine what my life would have been like if I was born and raised in a village on the Congo River.
