Ramallah is the political capital of the Palestinian West Bank. There isn't a lot of religious conflict there like Bethlehem (Christians and Muslims) and Hebron (Jews and Muslims). Ramallah seemed like it was really trying to be come a "tourist" city - Zest Restaurant and Crown Royal Boutique Hotel were prime examples of why someone should want to visit. Both were excellent and are highly recommend.
