Taipei City Tour

Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall One of most prominent historical landmark in Taiwan, the CKS Memorial Hall was erected in honor and memory of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the former President of the Republic of China, and was opened in 1980 as part of a national park and gathering area. We watched the opening of gates and changing of the guards.

Longshan Temple Began the rainy city tour at Longshan Temple, learned about the culture & religions of Taiwan and admired the ancient architecture built in 1738. The warm rain added another deeper level of peace and tranquility.

National Palace Museum Originally founded within the walls of the Beijing Forbidden City in 1925, the present-day National Palace Museum moved to Taipei’s Shilin District following the Republic of China government relocation in 1949 with an official opening for the public in 1965. Over 600,000 of the most precious artifacts within the collection were moved to Taiwan to prevent their desecration during and after the Chinese Civil War.
