Beach Day with Audino

Scuba Diving, Praia, Santiago Island

Definitely not a place you'd venture out of your way to scuba, but if you were on the island on vacation it's a nice activity to partake. The water visibility was excellent 25 +/- meters, albeit fairly cold. We all wore 5mm wet suits. Most spectacular was the yellow coral fauna cover the wall. The sea life was standard - needle fish, moray eels, puffers, porcupine fish, nudibranchs, etc.

Santiago Island Tour

Not sure what I expected, but i’m liking what I’m experiencing - coastline and beaches, ocean breezes, laidback island culture. Everything is super chill here. Albeit, the landscape is a very yellow/brown. It's the dry season which is a huge contrast to the lush green of north Africa where I recently visited. The rainy or green season here starts here in June.

Espinho Branco:  Meet the only one tribe of Santiago Island. The real local live stile is found in this community. Rebels community represent the real sense of our culture and traditions still preserved by its people.

Probably one of the most picturesque markets I've visited, especially with the walk way over top of it.

Chinese are building a huge island resort off the coast of Praia.

Sala-Museu Amílcar Cabral. This museum was definitely the highlight of my day.  Prior to visiting the museum I had no idea who Amílcar Cabral was. After visiting, I had great respect for him.  He lead the revolutionary revolt again the Portuguese Colonizers in Guinea-Bissau. The revolution lead to the decolonization of all the Portuguese Colonies in Africa including Mozambique, Angola, Cabo Verde, São Tomé and Príncipe.

Excellent Pizza! Often very difficult to find while traveling.
