Essaouria, Morocco

Essaouira is a port city and resort on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. Its medina (old town) is protected by 18th-century seafront ramparts. Old brass cannons line the walls, and there are ocean views. Strong "Alizée" trade winds make the city’s crescent beach popular for surfing, windsurfing and kitesurfing.

I checked into hotel in Essaouria to wait for the arrival of my yellow fever certificate.  It was quite a struggle to get delivered, but it finally arrived.  Morocco FedEx was at fault. They called the hotel the day before shipping and ask if I was registered at the hotel. I was not, therefore they did not send the package.  However, I did register into the hotel on the scheduled day of delivery.  In hindsight they omitted that they should have asked if I was registered as a guest for the day of delivery and not the day prior to delivery which was day the packaged was required to be shipped.

Similarly, the hotel Atlas Essaouria and Spa is basically a dump.  It was once a 5 start hotel that has gone down hill. The employees are inept.  The should have told Fed Ex I was registered as a paid-in-full guest at the hotel.
