Day 2 - Gishora Drum Sanctuary and Kibira National Park

After breakfast we drove to Gishora Drum Sanctuary to watch the drum performance and then visited the National Museum of Gitega, Mushasha catholic village, ancient administrative offices during colonial time.

After which we drove to  Kibira National Park for a guided nature walk in this park. There was a possibility to spot animals’ species like black and white Columbus monkeys, baboons and chimpanzees, but we saw nothing except flowers and flora and fauna.  The country still suffers from the political upheaval and tourist is scarce, so very little funds are being invested in the national parks.   Nevertheless, the guide was very entertaining.  During the visit we enjoyed the view of the Congo-Nile Ridge and Teza tea plantation before driving back to Bujumbura to  Hotel Club Du Lac Tanganyika.
