Shanghai -> Lánzhōn

Last time I visited Lánzhōn, I viewed it as dirty and gloomy city with not much to offer, just a transit town for our overland trip.

Now 13 years later, the town has improved significantly. There is a vibrant outdoor pathway along the Yellow River near the Yellow River Mother Sculpture and Iron Bridge. The path was full of local people enjoying the Sunday afternoon, snacking, strolling, singing, dancing, etc. It was extremely lively and colorful. The autumn weather was also perfect.

Lánzhōn is famous for it’s beef noodle soup. It was interesting to watch them stretch and whack the dough until the noodles result. Afterwards, they would toss the newly formed noodles into boiling water for a few minutes to cook. Previously, I assumed the noodle were made like spaghetti and squeezed through a press. Clearly, I was wrong.
