Mazar-i-Sheik

Mazar e Sharif is the largest city in Northern Afghanistan and is home to many of Afghanistan’s ethnic Uzbeks. We spent the day exploring the city on foot. I was a little put off by our group being conspicuous obvious, somewhat of a spectacle, by those in the group obnoxiously taking photos of everything and everybody, and our tour guide rushing us around like were competing in the “amazing race”. My preference when the group contains more participants that are observers, than spectacles. The next day, I walk around by myself and enjoyed the city significantly more.
