This trip is definitely one of my top 5 trips in the last 2+ yrs. I can’t remember when was the last time I was this remote from “western” civilization. And it’s difficult for me to comprehend that people still live in such remote areas. I often ponder: what fills their head? What makes them happy or sad? What are their dreams? I know what fills my head, what makes me happy and sad, and what my dream are. Most of it comes from my life experience, videos I’ve watched and books I’ve read. It’s almost guaranteed, that other than the bible, most of the DRC citizens I’ve met on this trip never read a book that I have read. I can also guarantee their life experiences and videos they’ve watched are nothing like mine.
