There are virtually no roads to the area we visited. The only access to the area is by the river. It’s populated by large barges overflowing with cargo; floating homes; endless hand-carved wooden canoes being navigated by all including children, women transporting firewood, men trying to sell their daily catch, etc.
Our crew on the boat was excellent; my only gripe is that I lost my Deet (mosquito repellent) on the boat. I never found it again. Lucky it was towards the end of the trip. The mosquitos were out in
droves.
