Other than the ABBA museum and the serendipitous pride parade, Stockholm didn’t have much to offer, in my opinion. It’s a very old city, in terms of buildings, people, and activities. There aren’t many youth around, mostly older people. My observation might be biased coming from the DRC, where kids are everywhere, but still. There’s museums, “shopping” in the old town, palaces and old buildings to visit, boat rides to take, but not a lot of major “creative destruction” occurring.
In one of the museums there’s an old ship that was built in the 17th century as a symbol of Sweden’s pride and dominance. It sank in the harbor on the day it was set into the water. Nevertheless, the country seems to be doing well economical as a result of their left-leaning, environmentally-aware, very homogenous populace. Perhaps, if I return, I’ll spend more time in the country-side and less time in the Stockholm.
