Malé Friday Mosque or the Malé Hukuru Miskiy

I have feeling that this mosque has more historical influence than I understood. Wikipedia has a significant write up about it, especially explaining in detail about the carvings.  It states "It has intricate carvings, with inscriptions in Quranic script. The mosque, in a walled enclosure, is made of interlocking coral blocks with its hypostyle roof supported by cut-coral columns."
