Harare

I arrived a day early to ensure making it to the airport on time to catch my flight to Mozambique. As a result, I had a half of day to spend walking around the city.  Naturally, I made my way to the Zimbabwe National Art Gallery, first.  It was a lot better than I expected. Although gallery was between exhibits, from what I could see of the exhibits that they were breaking down were impressive and very modern.

The last time I was in Harare was 24 years ago.  It's gotten a lot more crowded and dirtier since then.  The country has seen some rough political years recently.  Lots of building requiring repair and trash everywhere. It reminding me more of East Africa this time than South Africa last time.
