It was raining slightly just prior to the summit, making the hike fairly uncomfortable. I had thoughts of quitting twice, but I pushed. I did promise myself, however, that Mt. Kinabalu will be my last mountain peak summit. No more sleeping in a dorm room, waking up at 2 am and hiking in the rain. The uncomfortableness of the tired, dark, cold, rainy hiking significantly outweighs the satisfaction derived from sense of achievement of reaching the summit.

Mt Kinabalu - Hike to Summit
On the third day, we woke up at 2am to begin our hike to the summit and reached the 4095 meters summit around 5:30am. On our decent we watched the sunrise over the clouds.
