Rachel in Oakland

On a two day layover in the San Fransisco Area, I had a chance to visit Rachel in Oakland, her current residence. We had lunch at a truly unique, Native American restaurant that lived up to its excellent online reviews. 

 Back in our D.C. days, Rachel and I were part of the same friend group. Since 2004, we hadn't met in person, and I hadn't had the chance to meet her kids face-to-face either. Fortunately, our D.C. friends stay connected through an active WhatsApp group, and we all keep up with each other on Instagram, hence bridging the geographical gap through social media.

Nevertheless, it was fun hanging out with her in person again.
