Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Spent the day in Sioux Falls, SD, and it was “interesting”! First stop: the Butterfly House & Aquarium, which was what I expected - lots of butterflies and some marine creatures. There was about 25 visitors there and a weekday afternoon, which wasn’t too bad.? Next I visited Falls Park and hence the city’s namesake. Ended the day with a walk through the SculptureWalk. The sculptures were very basic. Like someone in art school made them. After exploring, I had dinner at R Wine Bar & Kitchen. The reviews were good, and the portions were huge, just like every restaurant I’ve eaten at on this trip!! I only spent less than 24 hours Sioux Falls which was enough!

Mystic Aquarium, Mystic CT

Drove to Stonington CT to hang with undergrad friends, Leigh and Stacey, and Eric and Stacey. I left Norwalk early to avoid traffic and arrive in Stonington earlier than our agreed meeting time, so I spent an hour and half visiting the Aquarium. It was extremely crowded!

Waikiki Aquarium

I was super impressed by this aquarium. The Waikiki Aquarium is an aquarium was founded in 1904. The aquarium is the second-oldest still-operating public aquarium in the United States, after the New York Aquarium. And while the aquarium is relatively small compared to many of the national aquariums around the world, what it did well was educate.  There's an online audio guide that's very informative.  I learned a lot about the waters around Hawaii from the audio guide.

Singapore Aquarium

They had one of those underwater tunnels

So beautiful, but the actual ocean is much more beautiful.

Jellyfish are always a highlight.

This tank was disgusting. It was packed with sea life and the visibility poor.

Feeding the rays by hand.

I started to realize base on this visit, I may be overdosing on aquariums.

Namibia National Aquarium & Swakopmund Museum

Like always, if there's an aquarium or museum in town, I'll definitely check it out. Swakopmund's particular aquarium and museum where defining lacking!! But they motivated me to leave the hostel for a bit and wonder about town.  I found a great fish deli, where I ate twice while in town.

Two Oceans Aquarium

The Two Oceans Aquarium in Cape Town was nice, but the one in Durban was better.

I was totally infatuated with these clownfish. There were so many is such a small tank. Kind of felt sorry for them. :-(

uShaka Marine Durban Aquarium

Best aquarium in South Africa. The theme was a sunken ship.  I arrived late in the evening, purchased a reduce price ticket, wondered about the museum observing the aqueduct life and blasting  Sigur Rós in my earbuds.  I had an excellent time since the aquarium was empty.
